GOD IS
People say that God is dead,
But what if people
Are instead?
His Teaching holds truth eternal,
While humankind swings from
Good to, well — infernal.
His Sacrifice is love perfected,
While our works are flawed
And selfishly directed.
His Rule embodies justice and mercy,
While ours is riddled
With corruption and controversy.
So, what credentials, pray tell, have we
To conduct on our Lord
An autopsy?
