I WILL FIND ME
I will find me in a tattoo,
Yes, that will undoubtedly do.
In my new reflection
My true colors spring alive,
Colors bright and shining,
Formerly inside.
Part of me, the mental me,
Is mad as hell at the face of me.
Ink distilled inside of me
Will bring to light the best of me.
I can no more bear to look at me
Seeing only the lie that others see.
Faces fragile, grey, and brittle,
Carpet crunchy autumn ground.
Sterile stalks of harvested corn,
Hearts ripped out, shells discarded,
Faceless faces, lifeless, nameless,
Interchangeable and tangled,
Flesh destroyed, decayed and mangled.
With bright new plumage
I resurrect myself, and
Take to the sky,
Wind against my rainbow-feathered face.
Those faceless gray look up and say,
Our god has been revealed today.
