STARS IN THE SAND
In the Infinite’s eyes,
All matter and time are of similar size.
Nebulas hide in needles, and,
Stars twinkle in the sand.
A million years sift through an hourglass,
Eons linger as seconds pass.
All along has the Infinite planned
To give equal import to stars and sand?
Look closely at a leaf and one day see
The deepest depth of reality.
Ponder fractals and understand
The countless stars in a grain of sand.
We ought not judge a book by its cover,
Since we cannot see the love in a lover.
When a galaxy explodes and heaven rearranges,
Here in the back yard nothing changes.
But an offhand meeting, though casual and fleeting,
Sets off a sequence with lifelong meaning.
We never know when fate is at hand,
And whether it lies in the stars or the sand.
