Too This Too That

TOO THIS TOO THAT

Too smart, too dumb,
Too sharp, too numb.
Too meek, too bold,
Too hot, too cold.

For me a happy medium
Is a miserable tedium,
So whatever it the it may be,
There’s another it I’d rather see.

Too wet, too dry,
Too simple, too sly.
Too fanciful, too realistic,
Too devout, too atheistic.
Too talkative, too taciturn,
Too early to meet, too late to adjourn.

Too rumpled, too prim,
Too silly, too grim.
Too liberal, too conservative,
Too much fat, too much preservative.
Too deep, too trite,
Too black, too white.

People think me a contrarian,
But they are too urbane or too agrarian.
Surrounded by so much imperfection,
How can I not suggest correction?

Too big, too small,
Too short, too tall.
Too thin, too fat,
Too this, too that.
