Poem: Topsy-Turvy Time

TOPSY-TURVY TIME

I smelled a noise
That hurt my nose
I felt a sight
That tickled my toes.

I ate a plate
That tasted nice,
Then took a nap
On a bed of rice.

I woke for a walk
And tripped on a star,
Then sat on a cloud
That crushed my car.

I closed my umbrella
When it started to rain.
Someone asked for directions
So I picked his brain.

I baked my pool toys
For a couple of days
After spending the night
Catching some rays.

I flossed my teeth
With nautical rope,
Then studied the stars
With a microscope.

If these lines of mine
Don’t make any sense
They will when compared
To current events.
