REALITY BYTES
Behold the celebrated success
Of reality in reality bytes,
Where digital damsels in distress
Are rescued by avatar knights.
These mighty bytes
Of faux emotion
Soothe our synapses
With tribal brain lotion.
It’s a sea of hardly humans,
Mere programmed catechumens,
Reduced to two dimensions,
Blind to all intentions,
Scoffing at appreciation,
Embracing annihilation.
The subtle and ascetical
Have become the parenthetical,
The lust for uniformity,
Yes, that is the current enormity.
Web page content is one big interstitial,
As we slip evermore into the artificial.
Instead of acronym-ing what next,
Forget the text,
Look me in the eye,
And explain your “why.”
It’s odd with all the knowledge around us
Idiotic ideas increasingly surround us.
The more our opinions become derivative,
The more we resemble
Our ancestors primitive.
The more we keep our fear at bay,
The closer we come
To judgment day.
